"The Ghost of Burnie Park"

Here is a recent poem I read entitled 'The Ghost of Burnie Park':

The moon was lost on Clovelly Bay
As the Clipper was dashed on the rocks
Though she swam and clambered
Through the seaweed and waves-
She knew all onboard had been lost.

As she staggered through bushland
A clearing appeared-
Sweet peace, as she fell, in the rain.
As her spirit emerged, and quickly
observed.
It was here- they would always
remain.

Thus, her ghostly image, seldom
 seen
With long amber curls and a face
so serene
Dressed in blue velvet gown and
golden headbands
Now resides in the gumtrees of
Burnie's bushlands

Her warm ghostly spirit is still truly
there
Although I have no proof-
Though Tuesday night last- as midnight arrived
She lay smiling, contented-
On the kindergarten roof.

Should we give her a name-
Or leave all- unexplained?
