Clean Up Australia Day!

Although it's been a while since the actual date I wanted to write a little bit on the volunteering I did on Clean Up Australia Day on March 4^th, 2012. As its name implies this event was a nice little Australian get together. All the volunteers met at the Coogee Beach Hotel, had a nice little brecky, then spent a couple hours cleaning up the beach, parks, and walkways of the Coogee suburb. I was fortunate to meet a lot of local Australians and this opportunity was a great way to give back to the generous Coogee community that has graciously adopted me into their town. Clean Up Australia Day was also a great way to explore the area and get a feel for the surroundings. Here is a little write up about the day in the local newsletter.
